Last but not least is my favourite re-find of the day. Unique Vintage. Seriously, I could never need to shop anywhere else again.
I refuse to write any more, go check it out!!
Continuing my online foray into alternative styles - rockabilly, 40’s, 50’s Victoriana, SteamPunk - I drifted onto Chicstar. American online store, with international shipping. Loads of great customer photos which is something I am a big fan of. Gives you a better idea of fit on a variety of body shapes, especially when buying abroad.
Some Forever21 goodies. Check out the sale for some seriously cheap goodies. Simplicity shouldn’t be expensive.
ASOS Curve UK - New season dresses. Perfect for Smart Casual workwear.
Loving the colour and pattern combos.
Thank you French Elle for allowing me to crush on Tara Lynn. MMmmmm girls got appeal!
Canny Fatshionistas, get yourself to Simply Be and check out their up to 70% off sale. Their delivery couriers might be a bit crap at times and you HAVE to open a credit account to shop with them - don’t agree with that myself - but they do still have some great bargains in their sale.
Brands Like Anna Scholz for and Joe Browns are a good investment. So have a look. I’m not a huge fan, and i’ve been shopping with them since 2003 and i have no end of problems with their crappy couriers Hermes , but you don’t live where i do (i hope) so you might get better service!
Their next day deliverys, on the 3 occaisions i have used them, all turned up over 3 days late. Save your money, plan in advance.
Vogue Italia, Plus Size cover!!!
So, an exciting day for me today as i won a fashion competition on Facebook! 9 other woman and myself have won a trip to Londong, expense paid, a night in a lulla little hotel and then VIP attendance to the launch of Simply Be’s Autumn/Winter range at a breakfast event the following morning. Plus £150 to spend on any fashion we want.
The question: Why do you think you should attend the Simply Be Launch of a brand new designer range?’.
My answer:
I think you should consider me because i am a hard working fatty, who could do with being cut a break. I don’t lament being fat, short, pale skinned. I embrace it. I love cinched waists, big boobs and little feet (normally flats because with this much jiggle i might just fall over). I am all about dresses, long hair and cupid lips and Simply Be branded lines give me access to clothing with that something extra i want. Whether it is Frock & Frill’s ethereal floaty tea dresses, Joe Browns vibrant patterns or Rise’s glamorous Capella Maxi.. i just ♥ them! Beautiful, colourful and whimsical, we just make a good match.
So on July 14th i will be in London town attending a fat-fashion-fest in my new frock. Oh and the first thing i did when i heard?? Well, like any good girl, i called my mother and told her to pick something nice out of my winnings xx
My Forever+ love.
So here are some of the contending “keepers” from my rather large Forever21+ first order.
I have to see, given how cheap most of the items are, i’m really impressed and the quality of material and stitching. Well chosen, fatty figure friendly natural fibres.
Let’s face it, when you are insulated to survive the Artic, you don’t need sweaty acrylic material.
I will be sending some items back, most i haven’t shown, due to my not being happy with the fit. When you are short and fat, with curves in all sorts of places, like i am, you got to thik about what you were, even if the piece of clothing is cheap. I like my own style.
So lets see how good their return policy, which is free might I add, unlike Yours Clothing, is. So far, so good!!
Forever 21??
No i’m 28, but thank you for underestimating!
Here’s some items from the little known funky and affordable online retailer!! Average price of item is about £14.
Dresses.. dresses everywhere… Where i go, people stare…
Maybe it’s because my thighs are bigger than their waists? I’m not sure!
SKIN
We are covered in the stuff, but before we go slopping stuff on with a trowel, we need to look after the icing on our cakes.
I have normal to dry skin. I also have chemical burns on my cheeks (right side is worse) and therefore permanantly rosy cheeks. My biggest bugbear is dry skin, so this is how i take care of it:
Pat your face with warm water and exfoliate with Body Shops Facial buff, once a week.
Cleanse and tone with Body Shops Vit E range. This stuff is INSANELY good, deep pores on my cheeks, dry patchs on my burns, colour variation, all evened out.
When it comes to moisturising, if i need something light i’ll use Johnsons & Johnsons baby lotion or for something heavier, Nivea Creme.
Base
Two things i do here. For light wear, i just use No7 Intelligent Colour Foundation. I have pale skin, and this blends in beautifully. It is also SPF15 .. very important !!
For a more complete look you can use a primer then your foundation. I add contoring by using a darker pigment powder, then finish by fixing the look with a translucent powder.
Eyes
As with your skin, you need to prime the area. A mini compact like this, is perfect! Cream gives a better finish than powder, but don’t go to heavy if you want a sharp look that will hold it’s own for hours.
I hate liquid eyeliners with a passion. Go for a soft kohl pencil.. and for goodness sake make sure it is sharp, you dont want wood shards in your eye as you drag it along. Alternatively, wet a liner brush and pat it in the pigment of your choice. Dress it up how ever you fancy with colour and blending.
Mascara is a must and if you want to wear Falsies, go for it, they are easy. Don’t shy from them but try not to wear 3 layers at once. Your a human not a babydoll.
Lips
Red lipstick (corail des Mers) or a nude/apricot gloss. SIMPLE!
Takes me about 10 - 25 minutes, if i have my game on!

Accessories in the ASOS sale. All prices quoted are current sale prices not RRP.
You’ll notice that I am often polar opposites when it comes to accessories. This normally depends on the outfit but I either go for delicate, feminine, classic pieces or bolder, coloured, sparkly pieces. I don’t like to go for anything to jazzy. I like to have a lot of black in my wardrobe, and the right accessories help break it up. I own 3 of the above pieces already. I’d love to get the Mimco necklace and Crumpet scarf.. but i also want to eat this week and i have been a spending demon!

Casual and smart work wear.
My ethos for work clothing is based on the type of work I do. I don’t feel the need to go in glammed up and quite honestly I save the best of me for my personal time. I can be called on to a variety of tasks or handle emotionally volatile situations so the last thing I should worry about is a hemline or flaking make-up.
I save that for professional only settings, when on training, boardroom meetings.
Oh and don’t be expecting high quality shots of me, I’m not a trendsetter and i don’t have ambition to model.
Now I think that what i wear to work is largely plain, Trousers, t shirt, jumper, dresses with tights or leggings, but it is comfortable and durable and fits my shape. I may not by high fashion when at work, but by george, i can tackle anything that comes my way with a smile.
Oh but don’t panic.. one of the shots was of part of my halloween outfit.. can you guess which?
Ready arms, Lt McMuffin, it’s time to go to war on Fat fashion! No matter what your style, have a rummage through my links to some of my favourite online sites.
Worried about sizing.. returns… deliveries.. I’m a beast when it comes to bad service, I don’t recommend sites I’ve had problems with or who needs to funnel feed their size mannequins.
